Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Program Director to lead our creative arts initiative. This role will focus on engaging and organizing musicians, lyricists, songwriters, and creative artists in the development of family-friendly music that addresses critical social justice issues and creates positive social impact. The position includes oversight of both secular and faith-based musical projects.
Key Responsibilities
– Develop and implement strategic programs to engage college students in social justice-oriented musical creation
– Build and maintain relationships with campus music departments, faith-based organizations, and student arts groups
– Coordinate with artists, musicians, and songwriters to create compelling, family-friendly content addressing social justice themes
– Organize workshops, songwriting sessions, and collaborative events
– Mentor student artists in developing socially conscious music while maintaining artistic integrity
– Oversee the production and distribution of musical content
– Create curriculum and educational materials connecting music, social justice, and community engagement
– Manage program budget and resource allocation
– Track and evaluate program impact and outcomes
– Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes diverse musical styles and cultural expressions
Qualifications
Required
– Enrolled in an institution of higher learning
-Or, recent alumni with strong community connections
– Or, bachelor’s degree in Music, Arts Administration, Social Justice, or related field
– 5+ years experience in program management or artistic direction
– Demonstrated experience in music production or songwriting
– Strong understanding of social justice issues and advocacy
– Experience working with college students or young adults
– Excellent project management and organizational skills
– Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
– Proven track record of building and maintaining partnerships
Preferred
– Master’s degree in related field
– Experience with faith-based music programs
– Background in music education or teaching
– Knowledge of multiple musical genres and styles
– Experience in community organizing or activism
– Familiarity with music production software and technology
– Grant writing and fundraising experience
