Summer 2025 Internship Program:

Program Dates: June 2 – August 8, 2025
Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.

The Entertainment Group develops and schedules the network’s primetime, late-night, and daytime entertainment programming, including USA, SYFY, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, and Universal Kids. NBC’s quality programs and balanced line-up have earned the network critical acclaim, numerous awards and ratings success, including most recently winning the traditional September-to-May season in primetime’s key demo, marking the network’s third win in four years. NBC has earned more Emmy Awards than any network in television history.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
Entertainment Digital Publishing: The Digital Publishing Group is a multiplatform publishing team responsible for content programming, promotion and shortform video publishing across our digital platforms. With a focus on data and analytics, the group helps drive our video content and publishing strategy for Dotcom and YouTube. Prospective interns will have exposure to all things YouTube, from content management, analytics and content brainstorming. They will also have exposure to social media content planning and publishing across YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Exciting projects will include the actual writing of YouTube community tab posts and sourcing of content for the creation of mashup videos
Entertainment Photography: Support East Coast Photo Producers and Post-Production Manager, perform basic photo editing – reviewing photographer unit/episodic coverage and gallery for best images, assist w/post-production process – sort selects from wide edits and caption talent in all photos, sort full photo content into BTS, PULLAWAYS and PLATES folders, perform photo requests for specific search parameters, and work any in-person events, running cards from photographers to editors
Oxygen & SYFY Scripted Creative: Our team is part of the creative and production group focusing on SYFY/Oxygen + Scripted Programming across the cable entertainment family. It is our team’s responsibility to develop, oversee, and execute the creative marketing campaigns for various show launches and brand initiatives. Our intern is a big part of this process and will contribute every day to the deliverables and campaign executions in varying ways including editing promos, behind the scenes vignettes, and/or social content for ongoing show campaigns and brands, assisting our team’s production coordinator and production assistant with daily support and needs consisting of administrative work to media management, contributing to copy needs for promos, scripts, and other various needs
USA & Universal Kids Creative: This intern will work on media management, writing / brainstorming and video editing. The intern will assist in managing various forms of media for USA and Universal Kids IP, including but not limited to, dailies, behind-the-scenes material, and marketing shoot footage. They will also have the opportunity to write copy and scripts for consumer-facing marketing material. Interns will be highly encouraged to brainstorm innovative ideas that may contribute to the larger marketing campaign for a given show on USA or Universal Kids
USA, SYFY, Oxygen & Universal Kids Design: Contribute to the initial design process of new show creative, including brainstorms, mood boards, typography exploration, logo design, motion graphics and more with the potential of their contributions being selected for the campaign, ideate and execute designs for our social media feeds, use Photoshop and After Effects to help us to execute a full spectrum of digital assets needed for each show as it travels across the online marketplace
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025). May 2025 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2025 Internship Program.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Interest in typography, branding and layout, publicity and/or marketing preferred.
Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), AVID, DAM systems a plus.
Experience with vector manipulation, photo editing, Photoshop manipulation, animation, video editing, and typography layout.
Strong working knowledge of social platforms: Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube and Instagram.
Core understanding of designing for Mobile, Social and emerging digital platforms required (which could include app design, EST work, web design, VR, etc).
Potential majors include Motion, Visual or Interactive Design.
Passion for entertainment and pop culture.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Highly organized and eager to learn everything photo related.
The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.50.
