Design a Prompt Document:
For complex prompts and instructions, it can be helpful to build a prompt document that includes the following:
- The main prompt
- Contextual and reference documents that help the chatbot create more authentic, accurate, and useful responses
- Secondary prompts (if desired).
Steps:
- Open a Google or MS Word doc to cut and paste your desired components into one place.
- Once optimized, then cut and paste the whole thing into the bot prompt field
- The prompt document can then be saved for future use.
Example:
**All text below would be cut/pasted from the prompt document into the chat prompt field**

[What I Did Narrative]
During my internship with Lazard & Co., I worked on a project that involved the in-depth analysis of a target company’s non-performance. This required understanding the financial metrics and operational strategies of the company. I had to delve into the company’s past financial statements, market trends, and industry analyses, which was a huge amount of data. My approach was to systematically break down the data into manageable parts. I used Excel and R for data sorting and visualization to identify patterns and trends. Through this process, I was able to identify 40 contributing sources to the company’s share price non-performance. My findings were compiled into an information memorandum that was shared with potential bidders. The project was successful, with my report being used to inform investment decisions.

Dear Hiring Manager,
I am currently an undergraduate student at Dartmouth College, and I am writing to express my strong interest in the Business Analyst Intern position at McKinsey & Company. As an aspiring global leader in the art market with a diverse background in art, economics, and consulting, I believe I can bring a fresh perspective to your team. My ultimate ambition to transform the art market using AI, paired with my drive to learn from the diverse array of business strategies McKinsey encounters, makes this opportunity an ideal fit for my career aspirations.
In my previous roles, I have cultivated the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for success in this position. At Lazard & Co., I conducted in-depth analyses to identify factors affecting a company’s performance and informed investment decisions based on DCF analyses. This experience honed my ability to delve deep into complex financial data, formulate effective strategies, and communicate my findings effectively, aligning well with McKinsey’s expectations.
My experience as a Business Consultant Intern at Mastercard further prepared me for this role. I implemented new pricing structures and analyzed the effectiveness of new initiatives, leading to significant increases in revenue and customer engagement. My experience presenting project updates to clients not only honed my leadership and communication skills but also exposed me to the client-facing interactions that are central to consulting.
Furthermore, my diverse academic background in economics and studio art provides me with a broad perspective that I believe is valuable in consulting. By integrating these disciplines, I can offer innovative solutions to clients from various industries, which aligns with McKinsey’s approach to problem-solving. In addition to my consulting experience, my role as a Logistics and Fundraising Coordinator for the New Hampshire Conservation Works Program gave me the opportunity to work collaboratively in a team and lead projects to successful conclusions. These experiences, combined with my fluency in multiple languages, make me an asset to any client team.
I am confident that my blend of skills, experiences, and passion for consulting makes me a strong candidate for the Business Analyst Intern position at McKinsey. I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences in consulting, alongside the top-tier training offered at McKinsey, to advance my goal of transforming the art market. I look forward to the possibility of discussing this exciting opportunity further.
Thank you for considering my application. I hope to have the opportunity to further discuss how I can contribute to your esteemed organization. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.
